Ahoy Matey
My 3 yr old nephew and I very much enjoyed doing the Ahoy Matey Lapbook kit from In the Hands of a Child. A few of the activities were too old for him, but he loves pirates and he enjoyed all the ones we did. We started with Pirate Trivia and he knew all the answers except what the flag is called. He had a grand time. Then we went to the Pirate Story and he liked adding the pictures to the pages. One of his favorite things is putting the mini books in the folder. We then counted the jewels and he thought it was fun, but he is not very good at counting one at a time so alot of the jewels had 6 or 7 when it was more. He is developmentally right where he should be, maybe ahead. He found the activity fun by all reactions in him. Then cam eye spy. As his writing is not great yet, he wrote his name on all the pages and made a book with the brade for his book. The N-S-E-W activity was done largely by me, as it was behind him. I did bring my compass and he liked playing with it. Listening to your Pirate has to be the greatest element for him. He wants to be a pirate and we read the book "If I were a pirate..." almost daily. He knows all about what they do and why. He plays with the cards alot. Lastly we did the what starts with P. He knows his letters and their sounds, so I was able to play does ___ word start with P. He found this funny and would always ask me if I knew my letters. Overall, this was a very successful unit and he had alot of fun and learned alot. I plan to use other lapbook kits from In the hands of a Child in the future. Your prices are fair and they are well worth the money. Thank you for letting me do a trial run on this book. You have a grand program going.

Ahoy, Matey
What a great time we had with this! While my olders (12, 10, and 8 were doing Pirates, the 6 and 2 year olds were able to tag along on the journey with this project pack. We all had pirate names and positions on the crew. It is one of our most favorite studies!
