To use this version you only need Adobe Reader, however if you wish to save the unit with the students answers in it , change fonts, add pictures, or alter anything further, you will need the full version of Acrobat Adobe. Therefore it is recommended that the student print each activity as they complete it. CD The CD has a PDF file of the Unit on it ready for you to print and use as you’d like. You will need Adobe Reader, a free program to open it. - Because our units include reproducible, you’ll need to run copies of the graphics, or scan them from the printed version, or purchased our Kit Pack which provides them already printed out. The benefit of the CD is you can quickly and easily insert it into your computer and select the graphic pages (the last half of the book) and print those pages and walk away, no need to scan or copy one page at a time taking up your precious time.

Under the Hood
Although my child isn't quite old enough to drive, she is intent on learning about driving & cars. This project pack was perfect to use to learn how a car works (way beyond adding gas, turning the key, and steering!) I was amazed at how much I didn't know about how an engine works. This is a great addition to a homeschool driver's ed course!

Under the Hood
"Under the Hood" is a great lapbook project! Our 16-year-old son enjoyed everything he learned. This lapbook covers the history of the automobile and describes all the working systems. Everything is here, including auto assembly, the internal combustion engine, functions of motor oil, fuel systems, exhaust systems, heating and cooling systems, transmission types, drive systems, wheels and tires, steering, brakes, battery and alternator, ignitions, etc. We liked combining the lapbook with the recommended book, DK Eyewitness: Car. His favorite part was getting to design his own vehicle. I would consider this a required lapbook for all teens, boys and girls. Drivers Ed was never so much fun!

Under the Hood
I love Hands of a Child products! This lap book Under the Hood is wonderful. I love the way the inside workings of the automobile are detailed with out being too technical and hard to understand. The graphics are wonderful too! Also included in the lap book are extension activities which are great especially for the hands on learner. And if this were not enough there is also a word search included as one of the activities and math story problems too which is great practice.
The only thing I was confused about was that on the outside of the pack it says "Teacher's Manual" so I wasn't sure
if I needed to buy something extra or everything was included
but it's all there everything you need to make a complete and
wonderful lap book!
